Shannon Corgan is an artist from the Saint Louis Metro East who has been living and working in Durham, North Carolina since 2024. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in painting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2023. 

Lately, she’s been creating graphite drawings depicting figurative scenes inspired by the intensity and subjectivity found in moments of heartbreak, laughter, fear, and isolation. Corgan creates images that serve as jumping-off points for raw conversation about the important moments in our lives that may otherwise be nearly impossible to put into words. 

Her work is often described as whimsical and comical with a dark undertone. Shannon’s mark-making is technically nuanced, while her imagery infers a child-like imagination.
