  • Kansas

    graphite on paper

    4.25 × 6.25in

When I was a kid, my mom would dress me up in sunflower outfits and take my photo in the field behind our house.

  • The Crow

    graphite on paper

    arches 140lb cold press

    7.5in x 9in

This piece was drawn as a gift to my incredible partner. The crow is picking up a heart locket, while a ghostly star figure appears in the background. I imagine that the star figure only appears when good things are happening. It is a sign of bright light in the dark landscape.

  • Above The Wind

    graphite on paper

    arches 140lb cold press

    22in x 30in

I created this piece as a way to let go of some control I had over my work. Using no reference images, I wanted to know what would take shape if I just forced my hand to keep moving. Very thankful with the result, as it turned out to be one of my favorite drawings. A flying deer is looking back at the viewer proudly, protecting the worried two-headed bunny on it’s back. The deer is a doe, but its shadow is a buck. A great migration is happening.

  • And Don't Let Go

    graphite on paper

    arches 140lb cold press

    22in x 30in

Is she big, or is the house small? The shape of her body rhymes with the landscape behind her, signifying that her love for this house is as large as a mountain. She is dressed for the weather because she knows she will not be letting go anytime soon. This piece is a direct reflection of how I felt moving across the country.

  • No One Knows Her Real Name (Lady Fingertoes)

    graphite on paper

    6.5in × 8in

Folks say she’s odd. They call her “Lady Fingertoes” and laugh. This is her on a long walk away from the community. She is hopeful to make a friend soon.

  • I Saw What I Saw and If You Don't Believe Me That's Your Problem/ Horse In The Kitchen

    oil paint on canvas

    24in x 36in

    It’s obviously obvious.

  • Morning Routine

    oil on canvas

    24in x 36in

This piece makes me laugh. The entire time I was painting this I would burst into laughter. The figure is a sim of myself, with her green gamertag above her head. She is off duty.

  • Me, Us

    graphite on paper

    8in x 10in

What do you see when you look into the mirror? Or, who?

  • Chloe

    graphite on paper

    8in x 6.5in

Portrait of my friend Chloe Albers from the perspective of her phone.

  • Haha, Funny

    graphite on gessoed wood

    11in x 14in

The title “Haha Funny” might be what you text your friend after they send you something silly. The viewer turns into the cell phone, your reflection in the eyes of the beholder. Kinda creepy.

  • In Between

    graphite on paper

    27in x 9.5in

  • Jack

    graphite on paper

    7in x9in

A drawing of my friend Jack Decoteau from the perspective of his phone.
